The TIME Essentials allow you to dive into the world of Technology, Innovation, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. You will immerse yourself into fascinating case studies and group projects and connect theory and practice. By completing these modules, you will have built a solid foundation upon which you can add in-depth expertise in the second semester.

The management electives allow you to deepen your management skills and tailor the curriculum to your own passions and aspirations. For each of the three key themes of the program (innovation, marketing, and entrepreneurship), we are offering two electives providing all the necessary knowledge, skills and perspectives to optimally sharpen your profile. You will choose four out of six modules.

Innovation often happens at the intersection of distinct technology fields. The technology electives are your opportunity to expand your technology expertise and explore those technology fields that shape our future lives. Choose two out of six highly relevant technology subjects.

Combine the best of two worlds: management and engineering

Our Management and Engineering Master's program gives you a strong foundation in management, combined with a range of innovative electives in technology. You can choose six elective modules - four in management and two in technology - to shape your education to fit your career goals. The curriculum is created in partnership with the renowned professors from the Faculty of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen University, and is enriched by insights from leading business and industry experts. This combination of academic and practical knowledge ensures you have the skills needed to succeed in your chosen field.


As a part-time student, you can divide your workload into three to maximum six semesters, depending on how much time you can devote to your job or other responsibilities. In order to accommodate your work schedule, the modules will take place in the afternoon or evening (CET/CEST).

Cambridge Ecosystem Lab

Dive deep into a world-leading technology ecosystem at the University of Cambridge. An intensive workshop on innovative ecosystems is combined with campus and company visits to Silicon Fen and a unique insight into student life in Cambridge. You will understand the dynamics of cross-functional innovation teams and analyze the capabilities of innovation ecosystems. You will be introduced to the importance of ecosystem leadership and creatively develop connections for innovation across ecosystems. Working in groups, you will also practice your project team management skills.

Admission RequirementsWho We Are Looking For

Please check if you fulfill all the admission criteria for the program. Note that we give preference to applicants who completely submit the necessary documents for the verification.

  • Degree completed in a STEM related field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
  • A minimum of 125 credit points in mathematics and/or natural sciences (e.g. chemistry and/or physics), and/or computer science and/or engineering including a minimum of 16 credit points in higher mathematics and statistics
  • A minimum of 10 credit points in management and economics (conditional subjects will be obliged if criteria not met)
  • At least 1 year of professional work experience
  • TOEFL Internet based minimum of 90 pts. or
  • IELTS (Academic) test minimum overall band 6 pts.,
  • For German applicants: A certificate attesting English language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This proof is provided, for example, by the submission of a German Abitur certificate, which shows that English has been continuously taught with at least sufficient marks.

    Exemptions for the language requirements are only applicable for nationals or first degree holders from the USA, the UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.

The study course consists of 14 modules plus your master thesis.
In the first semester you take up to 6of the core modules, which will provide you with basic management knowledge. In the second semester, you will choose up to 6 electives in the fields of management and technology. You can choose 4 management and 2 technology electives. All remaining compulsory and elective modules can be stretched over the remaining semesters. TIME Capstone Project and the Cambridge Ecosystem Practicum will take place in the third semester. 

All management related modules will take place in weekly virtual live online sessions mostly scheduled in the evening (CET/CEST). In our technology modules, we offer a mix of different options depending on the module itself i.e., virtual live online-sessions, block weeks in Aachen or even weekly on-campus sessions. Depending on the module, examinations can be either online or on-campus. Our compulsory Cambridge Ecosystem Practicum will take place on-campus in Cambridge.

Our study management team will guide you throughout your studies on which courses to choose based on your personal preferences and constraints.

A 100% online-study/ self-study is not possible as attending the one-week Ecosystem Practicum at Cambridge University is compulsory. Besides this study trip, studying online is possible. All TIME Essentials, the TIME Capstone Project, all Management Deep Dives and two of six Tech Electives are offered in a digital learning environment. Nevertheless, it is compulsory to join live online sessions mostly scheduled in the evening (CET/CEST) and take the online exams at a specified time.

Yes, you must demonstrate at least 20h/week of other responsibilities next to your studies. This can be for example a full- or part-time job, maternity leave or caring for a relative.

Yes, the MME TIME program was designed to personalize the study mode and duration around your needs. The workload per module is ca. 6 hours/week in total. The modules are composed of self-study phases for independent elaboration of the learning materials (video lectures, cases, papers, etc.) and compulsory attendance. The more modules you choose to study in parallel, the higher the workload per week you can expect.
Our dedicated study management team will guide you throughout your studies on which courses to choose based on your personal preferences and constraints to maximize your personal learning journey.

Yes, you can switch between the two modes once during your studies.

To be eligible to the program, you require a first degree in a STEM related field with at least 125 ECTS plus basic academic knowledge of 10 ECTS in management. If you do not possess the required management knowledge, you are allowed to take up additional courses to close this gap. You will receive the information on which kind of additional courses to take in your admission letter. They must be completed before you register your master thesis. The courses are free of charge. 
STEM related additional courses to fulfill the requirements are not offered.

In the Ecosystem Lab, you will travel with your study group for 5 days to Cambridge (United Kingdom), where you will experience exciting module days as well as specialist lectures, company visits and social events. All you have to do is organize your own arrival and departure as well as the necessary visas; we take care of everything else.
