Prof. Dr. Michael Schneider has headed the German Post Chair for Optimization of Distribution Networks (DPOR) at RWTH Aachen University since June 2016. After studying business administration and computer science at the University of Mannheim, Prof. Schneider received his doctorate in 2012 from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. From 2013 to 2016 he worked as a junior professor for logistics planning and information systems at the TU Darmstadt, where he also habilitated in business administration. Michael Schneider has published various articles in renowned international journals such as Operations Research, Transportation Science, European Journal of Operational Research and OR Spectrum.
His research focuses on the development of heuristic and accurate methods for optimization problems in logistics and production, especially in the areas of transportation, location planning and warehouse management.
