Time to celebrate

The graduation ceremony took place in the auditorium of the main building of RWTH Aachen University on May 10. Together with the students of the RWTH International Academy, Dr. Helmut Dinger, Managing Director of RWTH Business School and RWTH International Academy, welcomed this year’s graduates as well as their friends and family members and congratulated them on behalf of the entire RWTH Aachen University.

Mandy Bollinger, study course coordinator of the MME TIME, was clearly beaming with joy while delivering her speech to the students and calling them on stage to receive their certificates. Prof Thorsten-Oliver Salge, the academic director and creator of our MME TIME program, dedicated some warm words to our first graduates and honoured their accomplishments:

Victor and Ana, a married couple, worked for Schlumberger for over 7 years. They decided to go to Germany together for further education. The study course was a game-changer for both of them as they switched to completely new industries. Victor met his new employer ASML at the Career Day last year which was organized by the RWTH International Academy. He was able to secure a full-time contract as a PLM Business Process Analyst in Eindhoven before completing his studies. Same goes for Ana. Both work in the same company again.

Before moving to Aachen, Khushbu worked as a consultant at Accenture in India. During her 1.5 years of study in Germany she gained experiences as a working student at BCG in Düsseldorf and as a Data Science Intern at Amazon in Munich. She was able to secure a full-time employment contract at Saint-Gobain in Ludwigshafen as a Business Intelligence Consultant even before she completed her studies.

Jacqueline, with 2 years of professional work experience at Capgemini, obtained substantial experiences as a working student at GEBRA IT in Aachen before she started her internship at Saint-Gobain for Digital Transformation and Business Development. She also completed her TIME studies in only 3 semesters. Currently, she has several job offers and is still deciding which path to follow.

Tobias continued working parallel to his studies as a product manager at Eaton Industries GmbH. Nevertheless, he finished his studies as a distance learner in 3 semesters only even though the part time version of the program is conceptualized for 6 semesters.

Together with all graduates from RWTH International Academy, our TIME students celebrated the “throwing of caps” in front of Super C, a crucial part of any graduation ceremony.

The first cohort of the MME TIME program started in 2017 with 30 participants. 52 students were enrolled in 2018. We cannot wait to accompany even more outstanding students on their way to their graduation and are already looking forward to our Welcome in September this year.

But for now we wish Victor, Ana, Khushbu, Jacqueline and Tobias all the best and much success for their future. You earned it!
