In September, we had a blast welcoming our new students of our M.Sc. and MBA programs here in Aachen! About half of our students took the chance to meet their future peers and their professors at our Welcome Events. For everyone who couldn’t join us in Aachen, we organized a live broadcast around the world with a team from our film studio. Later in the evening, we were also joined by the seniors from last year’s intake, so the network of our students grew even bigger.
During our Welcome Day, the freshmen were greeted by Dr. Helmut Dinger, Managing Director of RWTH Business School. During his speech, he emphasized the importance of networking, teamwork, and friendship. He also spoke about the many opportunities at RWTH Aachen University and encouraged the participants to make use of them, work hard, be open-minded and find their connections.
Creators of tomorrow
Prof. Malte Brettel, Vice-Rector for Industry and Business Relations at RWTH Aachen University, also joined and had some welcoming words for our students. He described our students as “creators of tomorrow” – having already the knowledge of technology and now learning how to change the world with this knowledge. He underlined that with RWTH Business School and RWTH Aachen University, they chose the perfect spot to create the future and start to make the world a better place.
Enjoy your student life
Prof. Christian Grund, Dean of the faculty of business & economics, also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to welcome our students. He advised them to enjoy their study life in Aachen since there are so many opportunities to engage like sports, culture, language learning, music, etc.
Following the welcome speeches, Mandy Bollinger, Team Leader Master Programs at RWTH Business School, offered some facts and figures regarding our new intake. She also engaged the participants in some interactive games so everyone could get a first impression of the others. Her most important message? Our students – you – are our most valuable asset!
Networking and Career Service
A break in between offered the opportunity to throw yourself into some small talk to get to know each other and the professors. Afterward, Lisa Willms, our Career Service & Relationship Manager, introduced everyone to our very own career service and how we support our students during their journey at RWTH Business School. With a combination of consultations, mentoring, academic support, workshops, and events we guide you along your way from the start of your studies to your next job entry.
Connecting with the alumni
Finally, two of our alumni shared their experiences at RWTH Business School and what one can achieve with dedication, hard work, and lots of fun as well. Channpreet Kaur, from our M.Sc. Management & Engineering in Technology, Innovation, Marketing & Entrepreneurship, spoke about opportunities and challenges, her job-seeking process, and how she finally landed her dream job in an international company. Daniel Hagemeier, from our Executive MBA Technology Management, on the other hand, shared his entrepreneurship journey and what he gained from his studies here at RWTH Business School, followed by some recommendations for our freshmen. Both were available for questions as well.
If you want to join us next year, do not hesitate: Our application portal is already open and we are looking forward to meeting you!
