Prof. Sven Müller has been head of the chair of Business Administration, in particular, Operations Management at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg since October 2020. Sven Müller holds an M.A. in Economic Geography from RWTH Aachen University. In 2008 he received his doctorate in transport economics and logistics from the Institute for Economics and Transport at the Technical University of Dresden. This was followed in 2014 by his habilitation (assistant professor/lecturer) in business administration at the University of Hamburg. In October 2015 he became Associate Professor of Transport Economics at the Faculty of Information Management and Media at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, before becoming Professor of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) in February 2019. His research interests are the analysis and optimization of spatial structures and processes in business and management. In particular, he concentrates on prescriptive analytics, i.e. the integration of predictive analytics and mathematical programming in applications in the fields of transport, logistics, energy, healthcare, retail, and marketing.
