The grey gold - How baby boomers can mitigate the skills shortage

Germany – and most of the developed countries – are experiencing the mass retirement of baby boomers. Every year, in Germany are retiring one million people for the next decade.

Many of the “retiring talent” are eager to keep going, and the level of working retirees is at a record high. According to the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), the main reasons for continuing are the fun at work or the need for a meaningful task and social contacts.

Frank Leyhausen, co-founder of Ageforce1.com, reports on innovative ways how the continued employment of baby boomers can succeed and thus mitigate the shortage of skilled workers.
